I met a Dragon face to face...

Today I wrote a poem inspired by "I met a dragon face to face" by Jack Prelutsky. The task was to write our own poem using his format, and think about adventures we have encountered while reading. After I wrote the poem on Google Docs, I copied it onto a Google Drawing and added images to help picture my writing.

In the poem by Jack, the character was 10 years old, however I changed this to my age so it was like I lived the adventures.

  1. Good Morning Hayley
Did you enjoy this writing? I find it fun to think back on the adventures I had amongst the pages of books when I was your age. In which nvel did you encounter a 'frantic fairy'? The image you have added is very clever...did you use a blank book and place your own images inside? Did you have to use 'Remove background' or were they png images?
    Great work

    1. Kia Ora Mrs Bennett,
Yes, I did enjoy the writing! Although I had to think back to a lot of books that I've read in the past. I can't exactly remember what novel the fairy was in, but I do remember that the book was full of non-fiction characters and on each page was a small passage/blurb about them. Yes, for the image I did get a plain book to place them images inside, and for a lot of the images I did have to use 'Remove Background"

      Thanks for the feedback,
      Nice to hear from you,
      Keep well,

  2. Kia ora Hayley,
This is a great poem and opens up all the worlds you go to when you read. I like your design and the way you have the brain with the thinking cloud linked to images which shows how our brains are engaged when we read.
