Plotagon

On Monday this week, the Mind Lab came to visit us here at school, to talk to us about pollution in our oceans.

We started by writing down some problems on yellow post-it-notes, and solutions on pink post- it- notes.

We were asked to get into groups of two, I chose to partner up with one of my best friends, Rylee.

Mind Lab then introduced a new animation app to us called (plotagon). On this website you can create many different custom characters and using them, to make a movie/video on any topic that you would like.

We were told by Mind Lab that we had to make our movie/video themed around the ocean, because that was the topic we were focusing on for the day. I must say that this app was easy and very fun to use, I'd infidelity use this app again and again and one more, again.

We were told that we could either make our self our future self, Rylee and I chose to make our self based on what we currently look like now.

There is many different skin colours, hair colours and hair styles, eye colour, face shape, make-up, lip shape and lip colour/shade as well as many sorts/styles of clothes, glasses, hair accessories and other accessorises and of course you could chose the option of being a female or a male character.

When we had finished making our characters, we made our movie/video. There's many background/scene to chose from, here are some . . . a bus stop scene as well as a cafe and restaurant scene. (I don't want to give them all away!) You can make your characters talk and also make them do many actions.
I hope you liked my blog post (that you have just finished reading) as well as many more furture blog posts
Thanks, Hayley

Lunapic

Today in class we were learning how to create original and unique images using two different websites, Lunapic and Remove Background, both websites are made to edit any photos they also have many special tools and effects. I must say myself, that both of the websites are quite easy to use, I'd definitely use both of the websites again I very much enjoyed this session in class. I hope that you enjoyed reading my blog post, as well as my furture blog posts coming soon, I do try to post regularly. There's also a slide down below for you to have a look at.
Thanks Hayley

Respect

Our school is focused on four main values which are Respect, Perseverance, Community and Excellence.

Today in class we made respect posters, to show others what respect feels like, looks like and sounds like. We could choose if we wanted to make our posters digitally, hand drawn or a mix of both. I decided to make my poster with a mix of both.

First of all I started off by creating a fresh, new document and making a BIG, BOLD title that I could print off, cut out and glue on to a big sheet of paper. I then created a respect wordle and wrote some more text to glue onto my poster.

Respect means . . . Treating others the way you want to be treated, looking after one another, using your manners, taking care of your siblings, being kind, saying kind words,
not talking back and not swearing.

All About Me 2019

Hi, My name is Hayley.
I am a year 6 student at Matawai school. I live in Motu, (15 minutes away from Matawai) With my 2 parents and my little brother, Tim or Timothy. My family is originally from Melbourne, Australia.

I like P.E and I’m a very sporty person. I play soccer in Gisborne every Saturday. I have received player of the day twice and player of the month. In soccer I am really good at shooting goals from all angles.

This year my goal is to pass all of my times tables. I love playing the ukulele. I can play lots of hard and complex chords. My ukulele teacher is Mrs Shaw.
I am a big animal lover. My favourite animal would have to be either a puppy or horse but like again I love all animals. I have three different teachers, Mrs Bennett, Mrs Allan and our principal Mr Knight.

Bye for now, I hope you enjoy my future blog posts,
Hayley
