Climate School Strike!

Today the Summer Learning Journey programme challenged me to list 3 facts about climate change, getting the information from a website called school strike 4 climate. Here is the link to check it out -https://www.schoolstrike4climate.com/about

Here are my facts that I learnt from this website . . .

1. These students from Australia are trying to stop people, the world and large mining company's from mining coal, oil and gas related projects.
2. Helping the planet be 100% renewable energy generation & exports by 2030.
3. Fund a just transition & job creation for all fossil-fuel workers & communities so that the world vehicles are EV's (Electric vehicles).
Two Bonus Facts
1. Planting trees can help with climate change making earth have more rain fall and less hot and dry weather.
2. Polar bears are dying because of climate change. There ice is melting and they are losing land.

Here I have helped the environment by planting more plants in the garden . . .
What do you do to help the environment in your community????

  1. Tēnā koe Hayley,

Pollution and climate change are beginning to become big problems all around the world - the school student from Australia who created the organisation ‘schoolstrike4climate’ are being very brave and fighting for what they believe in.

Do you think that large mining companies from around the world should stop mining coal, oil and gas? There are many other alternatives, such as electricity and solar power - but these can be very expensive.

Great job planting your own plants! Every little plant can help contribute to the fight against climate change. Plants can also help to clean the air that we breathe!

I really like how you added 2 extra facts at the end of your post - it helps to show that you are interested in the subject and that you worked hard on the post!
