The Summer Learning Journey has challenged me to list what my family does to keep healthy, here (below) is what my family does to keep healthy . . .
1. Try and get plenty of sleep every night.
2. Exercise every day - Running, Biking etc.
3. Eating many fruits and vegetables a day from our garden/lifestyle block.
4. Drink water (not sugary drinks)
5. We make our own meals from the garden and we make homemade jams, syrups, pasta etc (hardly anything comes from the supermarket)
What does your family/you do to keep healthy???

  1. Hello Hayley,
Thanks for sharing what your family does to keep healthy.
I do many of the same thing although we only have a small garden so I grow mostly herbs and a few vegetables.
I have just started making kombucha. Have you have tasted the drink?

    1. Bonjour!
Yes, I have tried Kombucha and have it everyday. My parents make big batches of it. It's not only a refreshing and nice tasting drink, it's also very good for the gut health.

  2. Kia ora Hayley,
Your family certainly lead a healthy lifestyle. And being in the country means you have all that lovely countryside to explore and be active in.

We only have a small garden but we grow our salad vegetables in the summer. At the moment we have lettuce, celery, tomatoes, cucumbers and capsicums growing as well as lots of herbs. I love picking fresh ingredients for a salad from the garden and think how healthy it is.

I love Kombucha and buy it from the supermarket. How do you make it?

  3. Kia Ora Hayley,

These 5 things that your family does to keep healthy are great! Keeping our bodies healthy is very important! Keeping a garden (just like yours) is an awesome way to have fun and also keep healthy!

I like how you included that you and your family try to exercise everyday. What do you do for exercise? Sports? If so, what kind of sports? When I was younger, my family and I used to go on runs together!

I think that the photo you included in your post! What is your favourite type of fruit from the picture?
