Indigenous Community's

The Summer Learning Journey programme challenged me to choose two fascinating groups out of the five listed as . . .
-Ainu People
-Australian Aboriginal People
-The Inuit People
-Papuan People
-The Maya People
After we chose our groups we had to do read a little bit about them on some websites and then come back to our blog and list a 2 facts from each group.
I choose the Australian Aboriginal People and the Maya People here are some facts . . .
Australian Aboriginal People :
Aboriginal Australians could be the oldest population of humans living outside of Africa, where one theory says they migrated from in boats 70,000 years ago.
Today, there are 250 distinct language groups spread throughout Australia
Maya People :
Maya people speak over 30 million languages
Despite differences words like sun, time, mother, house and corn are almost identical to the ear.
There (above) are my facts.
Here (below) are some pictures . . .

The two indigenous groups that you choose to look into further are two very interesting groups, I have definitely learnt some more information about these 2 amazing indigenous communities (The Australian Aboriginal People and The Maya People) from reading your blog post.

I noticed that you said that one theory stated that the Australian Aboriginal People migrated 70,000 years ago, that was a very long time ago. what do you think are some of the differences between the way those Australian Aboriginal People had to live 70,000 years ago compared to the way we live nowadays?

What made you choose these two Indigenous communities over the other three?

    1. Kia Ora Charlotte,
Yes, 70,000 years ago was a LONG time ago. It would be very different living back then compared to now.

I think that Aboriginal people must have lived differently back then because in some pictures on the internet they are wearing modern clothes (similar to us) When along time ago they wouldn't of had modern clothes however, some tribes still are wearing things like in the 'older' days.

I chose the Australian Aboriginal people because they are people from the country I was born in and I chose the Maya people because I had never heard of them before.
