Whakatauki

The Summer Learning Journey challenged me to choose a Whakatauki (proverbs or metaphors). I choose Kotahi te kākano, he nui ngā hua o te rākau. A tree comes from one seed but bears many fruit. We had to create a poster and picture of the meaning of our Whakatauki. Here (below is my meaning an poster).

  1. Kia ora Hayley,
I am working as a facilitator in Tairāwhiti schools, like Mrs Williams.
I like your whakatauki - the idea of being fruitful, producing lots of good things is a nice idea. I like the way you have shown different kinds of fruit on the tree.
Did you create this using Google drawing?
You can embed the drawing rather than taking a screenshot. That way you can update your drawing and any changes will show on your blog.

    1. Kia Ora Mrs Krausse,
I have no idea who Mrs Williams is, but I know from other comments you have posted that you are a facilitator like Mrs Torrie. Yes, I did create this poster using google drawings. Oh, and I did embed it, I did not take a screenshot.
      Enjoy the summer!!!

  2. Kia Ora Hayley,

This is my favourite Whakataukī, I really like the meaning and message it gives. This Whakataukī is all about accepting, respecting and celebrating everyone's differences, I think that this is a very important message for everyone to learn, understand and carry out.

I like how you wrote down the English translation for the Whakataukī below the Māori words, this helps your english speaking readers to understand what your post is about and to understand what this Whakataukī means.

I agree with Mrs Krausse, the way that you have added a photo of a tree growing different kinds of fruit is very cool. What is your favourite fruit shown on your tree? What is your favourite fruit ever? My favourite fruit that is growing on the tree in your picture is a banana but my favourite fruit ever is probably either strawberries, watermelons or plums!
